Option 1 - 2 day Boiler Operator Course
The Byworth 2 day course focuses on the practical application of safe and efficient boiler operation with sufficient classroom theory to ensure understanding of the importance and reason for these procedures.
Recommended for:
New boiler operators and more experienced boiler operators who need to fill knowledge gaps or to help prove competence.
All trainees will receive a certificate of attendance.

Option 2 - Certified Industrial Boiler Operator
This, the only National boiler operator qualification, has been developed by the Combustion Engineering Association in conjunction with the HSE, the insurance industry, and has the backing of the Carbon Trust.
A one week course, this option covers all aspects of safe and efficient boiler operation in greater depth than the 2 day course, but still with a mix of classroom theory and practical application. The week ends with a series of written, verbal and practical assessments, judged by independent adjudicators from Gastec. The assessments are thorough and demanding, so candidates need to be aware that self study is essential during this week to revise the course notes provided, for which, time is set aside. The qualification is valid for 5 years.
Recommended for:
Boiler operators with at least 3 months experience who are required to further their in depth knowledge and attain a formal qualification.

Option 3 - Diploma in Boiler Plant Operation Management
The only National boiler house management qualification, again has been developed by the Combustion Engineering Association in conjunction with the HSE, the insurance industry, and has the backing of the Carbon Trust.
Like option 2, this is an in depth one week course covering all aspects of safe and efficient boiler operation, concluding with thorough assessments. However the focus of the assessments is on written and verbal, with no requirement to prove a physical capability of boiler operation. The qualification is valid for 5 years
Recommended for:
Personnel responsible for managing others to run a safe and efficient boiler house, therefore requiring thorough knowledge of legislation, safe practice and emergency procedures.
