Yorkshireman2 boiler wins FP award

Industrial steam boilers are responsible for a large proportion of fuel usage in the food processing industry.  Knowing the importance of fuel efficiency to the profitability of an organisation, Byworth Boilers embarked on a two year R&D project in conjunction with Leeds University’s Mechanical Engineering Department, to design a boiler range with the highest fuel efficiency and lowest emissions to atmosphere.  The resulting Yorkshireman2 boiler range has just been given the prestigious award for the most significant technological development in Food Processing equipment and plant at the recent FP awards. These highly respected awards from the Food Processing industry are in their 25^th year, and were presented at a gala dinner on the 9^th February.

Peter Baldwin, Managing Director of Byworth Boilers commented, “We are extremely pleased to have been given this award as the votes came from our customers in the food processing industry, many of whom are already enjoying the benefit of lower fuel bills with their Yorkshireman2 steam boilers.  We will not rest on our laurels, though, further research is already underway to improve efficiency yet further.  We find that we are the only boiler company in a position to carry out this development as our competitors are either concentrating on survival or still focusing on driving down the cost price of boilers.  Boiler users can work out for themselves that it is possible to save a few thousand pounds by buying a cheaper boiler, but that saving will literally go up in smoke in only a few months in higher fuel usage.  The success of the Yorkshireman2 speaks for itself.”
